Children & Youth
Holy Trinity's children and youth activities are inspiring and safe places for children to learn, question and grow in Christianity with their friends. Our youth ministries help out all around the church and the community. But we also spend lots of time having fun, too. Learn more about all our opportunities for kids below or check out the calendar page .
Sunday mornings at 9:30 (between the services) all children and youth gather in the chapel for a short liturgy, then head off to their classrooms.
A note on the fall program: With the retirement of Eileen Bonine, the Christian Education Committee has been meeting regularly to plan for the opening of Church School in September and to assess where we are and what direction we would like to see the Church School take in the future. The committee is a very committed group of teachers, parents and other interested parishioners. The Church School Calendar is set for the 2007-2008 year, and you should be receiving one soon. Learn more on the Church School page.
Each Sunday morning between 9:30 and 10:15 the youth in grades 7-12 meet to talk about their lives, where they met God during the week, share their thoughts and experiences and create a safe place to build a community of faith together. There are two classes (one for the middle school and one for high school). All are welcome, bring a friend or come by yourself -- but come. It is a welcoming and friendly place.

Our Curriculum
Children learn scripture and Bible stories through play. Teachers and “doorkeepers” require training
Students read scripture corresponding to the Church calendar. Discussion and activities are based on the messages learned from the reading.
Rite 13 / Journey to Adulthood / Youth in Church
A program written by Episcopal Church. The first phase of this program is Rite 13 and recognizes that our students are becoming men and women in the church and are just beginning their “journey” to become adult members of the Church. We have been following this program for the past two years, and held the first Rite 13 liturgy in January 2005. The Rite 13 liturgy is intended to welcome the 6 – 8 graders as men and women of the parish and moves confirmation to a later grade when students can more fully appreciate and accept Adult responsibilities in the
Church.
Ages 12 and up. Meetings are generally held in the evenings and activities have included the ski trip, Christmas babysitting and gift wrapping, miniature golf, and a Halloween visit to the Pennsylvania State penitentiary (all were released!!).
