Community Dinners

The Community Dinners program began in 1988.  Every Friday night we serve a free meal to those in need. This serves 2 purposes: 1) to feed the hungry and 2) to provide a channel for young people of middle school, high school and college age to reach out to help others.

Our meals are preparedby Aramark at West Chester University.  Donations from Guinta's Thriftway provide our salad every week.  Entenmann's Bakery provides our desserts and Pepperidge Farms provides breads and bagels.

We feed about 50 people every friday evening at 5 p.m.  We get started at about 3 p.m. with salad making and setting tables. During the summer months we offer take-out meals of hoagies, drinks and dessert.

Adult volunteers prepare the salads and the youth set-up, serve and clean-up.  Volunteers are always appreciated and financial assitance always welcome.  Contact Betty Engan at 610-696-6571 for more information, to volunteer or to offer financial assistance.
